Nanchang China - Nan Chang Org

Nanchang is the capital city of the province of Jiangxi. It is a gorgeous city that is home to many majestic rivers, waterways and lakes. The greatest and most well known is perhaps the Gan River, which runs through the city. Nanchang is known throughout the country as the “green pearl in south China” because of its’ translucent waters and fresh air and beauty.

The city of Nanchang is the cultural, economic and political center of the Jiangxi province. It has a population of nearly two million people and its’ residents and visitors are able to enjoy a mild, pleasant climate all year round. Nanchang is an older Chinese city. It is over 2000 years old and subsequently is home to some tremendous historic artifacts and sites, perhaps the most famous is the Tengwan Pavilion.

The Tengwan Pavilion dates back to the year 653. It is situated on the Kan shore in the city. It is known as the initial pavilion of the Xijiang River. The residents of Nanchang take great pride in the pavilion and it is noted for it’s size, height and it’s architecture. Yueyang Pavilion is also a notable pavilion and landmark. Another well known fixture is the Bayi Square, which is one of the biggest public squares in the country of China, second in size only to Tiananmen Square. The city of Nachang is also no stranger to fun. It is home to the Star of Nanchang, which is the tallest Ferris wheel in the world.

Nanchang is not just important because of its’ past or relics. It is also an important agricultural hub. It is the regional gateway of agricultural production for the entire province. Produce such as oranges and rice are staples that help to sustain the region economically. The city also is home to a large Ford motor assembly plant as well to being central to the manufacturing of pharmaceuticals and Chinese medicine. Nanchang plays an important role in regards to transportation as well for all of Southern China. In fact, it rules the railroad system in the Jiangxi and Fujian Provinces. The railway also connects the surround cities; Changsha, Hangzhou, and Shanghai.

Nanchang is a very important Chinese city for the Jiangxi province and for the entire region. The city makes the country proud because of its’ great beauty and because of its commitment to furthering the progress of China.
